I remember some of the song and it went like this:- At Six in the Morning we hear the church bell, along came Skip Culver to open our cell, He opened the window and emptied the poe,back to the work shops we dickie boys must go. 1 2 3 4 and we're all in a line, our pick & our shovels are all marking time, we're working like convicts so back to our cell, there's no place in Hertford like Goldings hotel. Another song goes like this;- There is a mouldy dump not far away, where we get bread and cheese 3 times a day, eggs and bacon we don't see, we get sawdust in our tea, and we are gradually, fading away....fading awa....fading away. I often hum and sing both to myself and remember the tunes but not the titles.
