Hello Peter, we have met in the past when you were Mayor of Hertford. I organise Goldings Old Boys and Staff reunion at Sele Farm every year, for the last 12 years and also the residents off Goldings invite us into the grounds on the day and offer to them our memories of being a Goldings Boy and remind them of our recollections of the building in our days, of which they share tremendous interest. 2017 reunion will be 50 years since it closed and 60 years with our first official reunion which was ably encouraged by our Headmaster Mr Wheatley at the time.
To mark such an important date for us Old Boys and Staff we were hoping for financial support towards the evening meal, as Sele Farm Commitee are hoping for next year to give us the hall free as we have used the hall now for 10 years. Talking to Pam Grethe (Sele Farm Comittee and former Counciller) advised me perhaps Hertford Council would be supportive with the one off grant for the occasion, I would be grateful of any help in that area if at all possible as we would like to make it a one off free year to mark such an important event for us, and perhaps local papers could also help with publicity for us.
Another area we would be looking at is a service on the day at Waterford Church and perhaps a local Cadet Band after the Service to march us once again to Goldings, many thanks Peter if you can help us with these requests, Dave Blower, Goldings 1962-65.

Hello Martine, just a reminder on our conversation last week, next year will be 50 years since Goldings closed and 60 years since the first official Goldings reunion. As discussed we are hoping that 2017 reunion will be free to mark this occasion and are looking for support as we have already approached the Sele Farm Hall and to date it's appears positive once all members agree, and as you offered help from Barnardo's once approval from your Budget, the ball appears to be rolling in our favour, many thanks for the £2000-00 OOPS £200-00, from all the Old Boys and Staff for your contribution. Don't forget also we need loads of publicity for next year...perhaps two pages in the Guild Mesenger?
If I don't speak to you before Merry Xmas to you and Family and Barnardo's Staff.
