Hi David,
I appreciate your trouble to contact and can’t thank you enough, this is completely invaluable information and it will mean so very, very much to Colin.
It is a real heartbreaker to know that Colin will not be fit enough to attend the reunion in October, it would have meant so very much to him. I will not tell him of the event as he would be so disappointed not to be there, but hopefully he will have recovered sufficiently to attend if there is another sometime in the future.
It’s strange, I have done so much research recently on Dr. Barnardos with no joy at all, but a couple of mornings ago I was semi awake and the word ‘Goldings’ just popped into my head – don’t know where that came from, I went down to the computer and searched for Dr Barnardos Goldings and here we are!
I will call you tomorrow as you suggest.
Kind regards
Kevin

Kevin, ref Colin, he came into Goldings in Spring 1954 and was placed in Pelham Junior House. He left in Winter 1956 and was in the Senior House of Aberdeen.
I have printed this off,so if you want a copy contact me, all the best and don't forget to contact Barnardo's for his records,I have the number and name when you contact me,Dave

Kevin, I will look his name up in the School magazine, and if I find anything I will forward it to you. The other option is that Barnardo's should have him in their records. We have a D.V.D. about Goldings through the 30's,40's,50's,and 60's and you are very welcome to a copy, just cover the cost. Don't put your address on the site, ring me on 01922 615789 to give me it.I will look through the magazine's tomorrow for any news that I may find out,all the best, Goldings Old Boys and Staff.

Hi, my brother Colin Skinner was at goldings, I 'believe' from approx.1947-54. Really not sure. Colin is now suffering with dementure but talks frequently about his time at Barnardo's Goldings. He learned his trade as a carpenter/cabinet maker there. I would so dearly like to uncover any records - friends - any info at all, just so I can show him what I have found. 'If' anyone should know of him, met him, knew him, possibly a friend of his? I know he was a ball boy at Wimbledon as he still has tennis balls signed by some of the greats. Seriously ANYTHING at all - thankyou in anticipation.
