Hello Amanda, welcome to our site. The School used to have a magazine printed by our printers which spanned from 1927 to when the School closed in 1967.In the magazine it had a section on boys arriving and boys leaving called "comings and goings" I will look through it for his name but it was when the war was on and there was a strict law on the use of paper so not many were printed in the war years. Many of the Old Boys of that period are no longer with us but perhaps Len Harpin may remember him,are you looking in Len? Also Barnardo's should have his record of his time with then also they used to do a picture when they came in and when they left Barnardo's so I suggest you follow this up.Your contact at Barnardo's is Martine King Tel No 0208 552 1004,and good luck.We also have an Old Boys reunion every year in October the 8th this year and you are most welcome as we display many old photos of Golding and he may just be on one.Any help you may need do not hesitate to contact us,regards Dave.

The word "The Greatest" is used very easily in todays world, but yesterday the worlds greatest sportsman and human being passed away.Picture yourselves at Goldings in 1964,we were in Somerset bay bedroom at 3'o'clock in the morning listening to American Forces Radio on our "Coggy"radio when the young Cassius Clay fought the ""Bear" and became world Champion.Like the Beatles,The Mersey Beat the Champ, and early Space Flight, it was all happening when we were at that period in Goldings.Don't think we will see the likes again!
