Just found this site goldings from late 1960 to 1964 Aberdeen ended up House Captain. I would just like to get in touch with some of the old boys and staff esp. pop Steele.

It looks like after speaking to Revd Brian Faibank (who did remind me that it's not FAIRBANKS! as no member of his family is related to Douglas! but he would welcome the commision from his films towards the Church)who is agreed in principal of the timetable suggested for the service of the memorial,but hold serious reservations on parking which may upset residents of Waterford and Goldings which may jepordise further access in the future for us.I am looking for permission to park on Waterford Church Hall car park but I have not as yet made contact,but he has also suggested that there is a common behind the Verney were we could park and then shuttle people down to the Church,I will talk to the Goldings Residents for their suggestions to the problem.As I have indicated earlier, now I have more concrete time's for the service I can go ahead and book a 52 seat coach which should help with this problem,but any idea's are very welcome,but more accurate details will be on this site and included on the invitation to the re-union closer to the date (late August early September)
A further footnote Douglas! whoops sorry Brian! has suggested we pick 4 Hymns for the service (one's most popular at Goldings)and he has reminded me that we require an Organist on the day,which he will organise but there will be a small fee!I have got a Goldings Hymn book so I will post my suggestions on the site shortly but that is open to all of us but we need to do it soon Dave.

I have just spoken to David Wheatley who is hoping that his sister will be at the reunion this year,lets all hope so, as she was also like the rest of her family dedicated to the well being of Goldings.

As far as I know Bill,Fred has all the details.I will ring him in the week about it as I have to talk to him about coming down to Goldings.
If you all look on the reunion page, the cost of the Hall this year is displayed as an Invoice just below the address for this years reunion headed "Invoice's".Nothing is for nothing!Will look into bottom field for the future but I think that could be beyond our scope, Marquee, Toilets, Parking etc but we are getting closer now we visit the house! Who Knows?
