Hi Dave, It's a great idea and it would be nice to see images of our past around Goldings. I spent many happy hours in the(new) swimming pool and it was excellent exercise for those of us with Polio etc. It would also be a great idea to try and meet with some of the residents and Eugene Flannery to explain what Goldings meant to so many of us. As I suggested some time ago, sending a formal invitation to all the residents to attend our reunion would be a great way of building bridges. Now I have retired, I have a little more time to spare and if I can help in any way Dave, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

There is two projects I would like to try and complete this year. 1 To seek permission to place around Goldings grounds at specific and relevant areas, housed in metal or hardwood displays, images of it's past and place's of historial interest when it was William Baker Technical School. I.E. Where we had the Swimming Pool(Both the one in the river, and then the new one)Hard Tennis Courts ect. I have already approached the Mayor with the idea as there is a public footpath around the grounds,or failing that talk to the residents and the owner (Eugene Flannery)as I am sure many would be interested of it's past! 2 Now a few of our lads have become friends to some of the residents, would they on the day of the re-union allow some of the senior lads a interior walk around Goldings but at the same time respecting their privacy..lets give it a try as I am sure they would be interested in the stories they hold!

The Award this year (2010) has been given to Eric Mackay and it turns out he was once a Goldings boy in the 40's.who does such stirling work for Barnardo's. The Arrangements for the day are as follows and anyone who feels they can make it are very welcome.
I have just finalised arrangements for Eric’s award presentation with his family:
Date: 26th March
Time: 12 noon
Venue: Bath Bowling Club, Pulteney Road , Bath , BA2 4EZ (Next to The Arlington Hotel)
