The Lovers
We were out on Saturday in the Castle Grounds and looking for the local talent! and there was a group of girls sitting on the park bench so we sat on the one opposite.One started to cough and splutter,when out popped her eye,and Tony Angell caught it.After that the rest of us were blown out but Tony got on with this girl like a house on fire.Me,Peter,and Brian went back to Goldings because it was getting near time for us to be back but Tony stayed out with her.He took her to the County Cinema,bought her ice creams and really went overboard with the "lovey dovey stuff".We waited up for him as he was now out of bounds.
When he finally came back sneaking over the "Bridge's" and into the dorm we enquired how he'd got on.
He told us he "Wined and Dined" her and had spent all his pocket money on her,well we all thought he'd fell in "love" because none of us would have spent all of our 2/9d on one "bird".
Then he told us how well they got on,when he said to her "Do you always go out with boys so soon after meeting" "No" she said "only the one's that catch my eye!"

A new lad entered Goldings,and like all of us was sent to Mr Wheatley's study to be given instruction's as to what was expected of him in his time spent at Goldings,then he was told about "Skips Band" and how he was looking for new recruits.At this he was asked what was his favourite instrument? Now the new boy must have been 16 stone and he was only 12,but he thought very deeply about this question then bellowed out "The dinner bell sir!

Just found out my mates dating one of a pair of twins.I said to him "How do you tell them apart?"
He said "It's easy, Julie's got long black hair,and Derek's got a moustache!"

Marina is strengthening her promotion for the Marathon this week, contacting local businesses in the Ely/Cambridge area.

Hopefully, she will be getting a small article in the local Cambridge Evening News, too.

She is training hard, all credit to her.

I know that she’ll not let Barnardos down,

As some of you may already know, my daughter, Marina, has gained a place in this years London Marathon; running to raise funds for Barnardos.

This is something that she has wanted to do for some time, but gaining a place has been difficult in the past.

As a young lad, I spent some time in care of Dr. Barnardos; Marina wants to raise these funds as a way to repay Barnardos for caring for me, and making me the person that I am.
