Hi everyone, hope you are all ready for Christmas. I do hope katherine gives her consent to put her letter on the site for all to see as it was so genuine and moving. I don't mind telling you that it brought a tear to the eyes of many National Council members when it was read out to us. I am looking forward to meeting Eric when the presentation is made and feel it an honour to be playing a part. Just to remind you all that the offer of a pint still stands for any Goldings boy attending my Wedding next Saturday December 19th at Sage Cross church, Melton Mowbray at 3.30pm. It would be nice to see a few from the largest family in the World. I'm sure most of you will by now have recieved your guild messenger and read the article for more National Council members. Come on you Goldings Guy's, it's a great way of having some input into Barnardo's who gave us all so much. From Margaret and myself, we wish you all a happy Christmas and prosperous 2010.

I was very pleased to see this years barnado award went to Eric McKay a goldings old boy I remember well as he was there in goldings the same years as me, If my memory serves me well he was in Macall house and a few years after leaving he joined the Southhampton police force he was a good sportsman and was in the school football team.I would like very much to meet him again as I have not seen him since he left goldings,I don't think he has been to the reunions that Iv'e attended recently maybe he will turn up at the next one.
