Hello John No 12, this is 22. In answer to your question, Jo Sheppard is a school teacher who has been following the build up we now have of artefacts from Goldings and what long term should we do with them! and as we discussed all that was in Hertford Museum about Goldings was a table tennis bat which surely doesn't reflect the impact the school had in Hertford and surrounding area's in its days, but like most things it will cost! and Jo has found a goverment sponsored funding which is available for this very reason, so she intends to apply for this funding (£35,000-50,000) on our behalf which would allow us if succesful the means to have a permanent display about Goldings for future generations to recall it's undoubted success long after it's demise. Jo's father was a former Barnardo boy who also came to Goldings in 1935, trained as a cabinet maker, was a member of the first eleven football and cricket team (totally unknown to me until reading the "Goldonian") who later returned to Goldings as a school teacher, and when I was there he was headmaster of the school block, and was also offered the post of headmaster of the school when Mr Wheatley retired but declined to take up love of painting (look on personalities and at the bottom of the page staff) Jo like most of us recalls the happy childhood she spent at Goldings of which many us I'm also sure can recall, so it appears that she wants to continue reminding people of the fine work that was carried out at Goldings on our behalf and to share it with the general public, so good luck Jo.

HI Dave and all,
Today when I was sweeping leaves off an astroturf lawn, for a customer, for some reason I rememberd a pot plant
in Goldings, well it was more like a small bush. One of the boys had pulled all the leaves off apart from 5. Then they had stuck a note out of a risler packet saying "only 5 leaves left".
Anyhow now it's autumn I think I'll get a Leaf Blower.
