Down at the School Block

Three Goldings lads were at random asked by Mr Rowlands to take part in a simple test.To protect their embarrasment we won't use their real name's.
Brian,Peter,and Tony were called into the classroom one at a time.
"Tony whats 3x3?"
"274 Sir!"
"Could you send Brian in"
"Brian whats 3x3?"
"Tuesday Sir"
Frustrated and full of despair he motioned to Brian
"Could you send in the last lad"
"Peter(long and painful sigh)what is 3x3"?
Peter without hesitation remarked "Thats easy Sir...9"
At last, Mr Rowlands was jubilant, that someone had finally gave him the correct answer.
"Peter,can you tell me and the rest of the class how you arrived at the answer"?
Peter frowned, tapped the side of his temple and replied.
"Well sir I took Tuesday away from 274!"

Just had a E-Mail off Peter thanking me for the present I sent him!
It was a jigsaw? he was quite chuffed with himself and said "I did it in four hours you know,but it said on the box three to four years!
