Hi Dave and Mal, thanks for a great weekend I've spent many weekends at your place but this time with Paul Walkeden and Bobby Mac there, four Somerset boys all together watching videos and looking at photos of Goldings was great, it was a pity Keith Bishop had to go back to Wales but I'm sure we will see him soon. I won't say much about the market stall you took me to to buy a watch for £3, but when Bobby left at 8 p.m the watch said 5 p.m . Then when I woke up thinking Iv'e over slept as the watch said 3 o 'clock and it was daylight, I ran down the stairs and found it was only 7.30 in the morning. then by the same watch when I left Walsall at 2.15 pm I got back to London at 2.30 pm.hoping I dont get a speeding ticket. CROSS-COUNTRY At last we managed to select an evening which remained fine and dry for our Cross-country. Under ideal running conditions the Juniors set off followed by the Seniors ten minutes later. I should mention here that the Juniors were closely followed by one Isaac Mohamed; who had just arrived from Ireland that afternoon, joined Kinnaird House, found himself on the top field, joined the race fully dressed and came in fifty-fifth. Again I regret to say the "big 'uns" were obvious by their absence.-The little chaps showed the ability and stickability in the team "placings. A special mention goes to Cowley the Junior winner, a good "little 'un" who beat last year's time with 23 minutes. It was Buxton however who took the team winner's place with Bassett 2nd, Murrell 3rd, Osbourne 6th, Bishop 7th, Draper 8th and Goldsmith 20th. The Seniors were carried by the regular cross-country entrants, who all seem to be in Cairns, led by House-Captain Townsend, who came in first, with a wonderful time of 19 minutes 32 seconds followed by C. Watkins, 2nd; D. Johnson, 3rd; N. Smith, 4th; Bevan, yth and D. Smith, 8th; A first class team effort. R. N.
