I only went to Dymchurch once and that was in 1957 and found it an enjoyable experience as it made a pleasant break from Goldings. The drawback was sleeping on a matress on the floor in the hut. I certainly remember it being hot and sunny. I can remember just outside the camp across the road was a dyke of some kind(any one remember it?) and used to go fishing for eels with those fishing lines which were all the rage of the day. Had a trip down memory lane about 5 years ago to visit Dymchurch and felt rather sad when I drove by what used to be the camp and is now a housing estate but cheered myself up by taking a ride on the train. Anyway Dave, regarding the 3 photo's from 1959. The picture top right. Front row on the left next to Bob Newton is Tony(Fatty)Lydford. Tony was a printer and also a brilliant cartoonist and did a lot of Disney characters. Tony was no good at painting so I did the art work for him. Anyone remember Tony. I did hear a few years ago that he had died but don't know if that is true.

keith, I'll have to take the 4th ammendment on that. As my out of bounds escapades were in the other direction over the two bridges towards the front gate house, then sharp right into the woods, were even in the pitch black, just before I got to the street light by the short cut bridge, I would know if my new girl friend was there or not, it was not ginger 10 fags. it was my girl friend "ginger viters", it is with deep regret that at that time in my youth all I knew what to do with her was, to kiss her and that was very painful. I've just remembered one night while kissing her about 6 or 7 guys turned up and said you've got to go to pinheads office he is looking for you. So I left her there with you lot

Had a very interesting meeting yesterday me and Bob Macnamara,we finally met up with Keith Bishop after 43 years,he's well and living by Bob in Tamworth a few streets away from Bob,can you beleive that? He sends his regards to everyone who remembers him and is looking forward to the re-union.He's sorry he didn't pay Brian for the two "pins" he had on account,as when he did finally smoke them there was only tea leaves in them! so he's bringing you some tea bags to pay you back! He said does anyone remember when him and Tommy had to stand on the touch line up top field with no top on in the snow as a punishment by Bob Newton for being caught going through the gap in the wall by the "hole in the wall" which you wasn't allowed to! Also he would like to apologise to David Wheatley for the trouble he caused Mr Wheatley all those years ago! He's looking forward to meeting us all shortly Dave.
