Congratulations Alan, was she carried along with it by the wash of the boat, or swayed by the tide.I do hope you was up front and told her that when she marries you she also adopts all of us also.We do hope you sang to her "Just one Cornetto" as you sailed up the Venice of Nottingham...the Trent! Just remind the Caterers that 100 Goldings lads will be starving at the reception...and no pongy!

Hi to everyone. First, it was nice to see Pop's message and that he is on the up and I'm sure we all wish him well and look forward to seeing him at the Reunion, after all, Reunions would not be the same without you Pop!! Well, on the subject of reunions, it sounds like you all had a good time last saturday night at the Mini edition. As for myself, I had a great night on the River Trent. I left home at 7.45pm in time to board the Boat at 7pm for happy hour before it sailed at 8pm. Queued at the bar for 10 minutes, put my hand in my pocket......no money, left it at home! so I had to go back home for my cash and got back to the boat at 7.45pm in time to get a couple of drinks at "Happy Hour" Prices. But the evening did get better, as I proposed to my lady friend Margaret, and she said YES. We hope to get married at Christmas and she will be attending the goldings reunion with me and is looking forward to meeting everyone.

This week I was contacted by a Mr Boddy who was at Goldings and left in 1952,and he had two older brothers who were also at Goldings. He would be delighted if anyone can remember him as he and his family are coming to the re-union.Also I have via Brenda Hunt been in contact with Lois Baggeridge (Her husband John passed away this year)who is sending us a lot of infomation of John's time at Goldings to put on our site, and would dearly love to come to the re-union as she said "we made many friends at the re-union and I would dearly love to see them again" but she has no transport to get there,so if anyone lives in the Bedford area and could be so kind to help out she would be so thankful. COME ON THERE'S GOT TO BE SOMEONE WHO COULD HELP A GOLDINGS LADY.I would do it but I travel down on the Thursday.

Hi to all, Just a quick update, I was back in hospital a couple of weeks ago for my operation and discharged after 3 days. The 6 to 8 weeks on the waiting list turned out to be 14 weeks.Thankfully all seems well and I am slowly becoming normal again. So unless something unforseen comes up I expect to be at the reunion. I look forward to it, I'm not looking forward to the start of the football season next week. Nothing is happening regarding Newcastle United, I'm beginning to lose faith in the club. I can see in the near future the main attraction of the season will be Newcastle United v Walsall. Hope the weekend you planned went well. Pop
