Hi Dave and all, I am now convinced November 5th is the longest day in the year in London, Its been like a war zone now, every night now for a week, from 6pm till midnight explosions after explosions, none stop can't even watch the TV. Well I can watch it. I can understand people liking the pretty colours in the sky from the rockets, but the bang- bang -bang.
There are mums trying to get there baby’s to sleep, cats that are not pregnant having kittens, dogs running away and getting lost, or run over. If these people like explosions so much why don’t they join the army and go to Afghanistan

Went to the Doctor to day,he said "Hello Tony, haven't seen you for a long time" "I know I've been ill"
He then said "what happened to your face" "I said I've got seenus" "Don't you mean sinus?" "No, I took this woman out for a drink, she's married to a boxer and he's seen us"!!

The 1936 photo of cricket in front of Goldings could have come from the prospectus of any public school such as Eton, Harrow or Marlborough. It could be titled 'Work, Rest and Play' as it shows the workshops, the house and some of the sports facilities. From a similar time, I have just finished reading 'Barnardo Boy' by John Clarke which has 3 chapters (24 pages) about his time at Goldings. It includes an account of the bullying tactics of a thinly disguised Mr Patch. It's a good read from start (Babies Castle)to finish (owner of a family printing business in Birmingham). From the same pre-war period the technical drawings of Arthur Deamer are of an incredibly high standard. What does the printing on the notepaper say about visits and letters ?
