Dear Mr and Mrs Ram from up north, you must have been a licker to harvest the spuds in september. Me and the stallion was sent up in june and told not to come back until they were fully grown! we knew no better besides if you was not in the choir, Mr Nixon was quite a hard taskmaster!... was you in the choir!... me thinks so!

I don't remember picking spuds in june during my time at golding they must have been very early ones,it was always september/october.
by the way the farmers name was George Little and he had a farm hand by the name of Moses.

the reasons why you dont go to wimbledon!!
if you go scrumping, going out of bounds, going on birds island, climbing the roofs, pinching embos prize winning apples what he should have shown at the chelsea flower show, also when i met girls in hertford i would ask what milk milk lemonade meant, stealing push bikes in hertford, free train rides from hertford north to kingscross, shop lifting, and doing bunks, the list is endless thats the reason i wasn't a ball boy

least I wont be picking spuds when Wimbldon tennis is on I wonder if the farmer is still alive, the spud fields was just out side Waterford. All the good boys went potato picking

I have a mate that was at Euston Hall in Norfolk in the 1940's.
