Ref front page 1959 Sports Day

Dave,
Cannot help re markings on the shirts on Sports Day. There wasn't much sponsorship in those days. Seeing that the photos are black and white, it is possible the squares etc. on the shirts were different colours to signify which House was which. I can with the help of my stack of Goldonians put names to the photos. The one on the left is Terry Cooper winning the Junior Long Jump. Top photo on the right is R. Watkins winning the Senior Mile. The bottom one is Chris Mitchell being presented with the Senior Victor Ludorum. Somerset won the Senior Cup and Kinnaird the Junior.
1959 was the year I was away from Goldings doing a Home Office course at the Garden City, Woodford Bridge. However I was back at Goldings at the weekends during the football season to play for the Old Boys.

On the day they are supplying us with Barnardos Running vests (so they say) so I don't know what I can wear to show Goldings Support. Perhaps a band across one of my upper arms? Suggestions on a postcard hehe

The sponsorship may need to

I wanted to thank everyone so far for the support and the pledges. The total sum offered upon completion is now over £250 which is fantastic! I will progress you all, boringly so, of my adventures trying to get fit enough to do the Half Marathon without collapsing into a huge pile of sweat and moulten chocolate. ANd I shall also update when the milestones in my fundraising target have been met also.

Oh and the link for the website is below PLEASE take a look :-)
Thanks again. :-)
