Well David I don't like to give to many clues it might give the game away, but here's a hint it wasn't Tommy Hill because he was outside the headmasters study

Hi David
Thanks for your photos received yesterday. Fairly sure I remember you now I see the picture - wasn't that John Allen alongside.
Football team pic was in the one and only Goldonian I had, now passed on to Frank Cooke - I certainly don't remember him.
On his website the picture of the ballboy waking up the line judge was captioned Frank Workman . . . I don't remember that name either and suggested to him it was rather a small Scots guy called Robert (Robbie) Thornton . . . I'm 99% convinced on that because he was also in Cairns house.
Hill brothers were a right bunch - in the nicest possible way! Sorry to hear about George.
I suppose the blokes I knocked around with the most would have been Lefty Wright, Billy Hicks, Derek Hammond and Keith McSweeney. Ray Hillier was probably the outstanding footballer of the bunch but didn't really know him that well.
So sorry to hear about Jim James' demise . . . he was a printing instructor who saved my neck on more than one occasion. Of all the masters (printing) it was Frank Stevenson who really saved my bacon after an enormous fallout with Tordoff who was running the Verney - what a horrible man he was! Suppose I can say that now.
Heard through the grapevine that Richard Rowles and Victor Chan have died. Both real talents in their own right.
Do you remember the inmate called someone Jordan who painted the table tennis room with fantastic murals? Mr Shepherd was also very arty farty - also a really decent bloke - wasn't he an old boy as well?
OK, cheers for now Kind regards to all who might remember me
David Fall, Cairns, Spring 1962, from Hertfordshire, Printer.

Have you heard the latest,Peters gone on one of these flash diets. "Lose 10 lb in three days" So he rang them up and told them he'd like to join! Next day when Anne was out working her fingers to the bone for him, this very good looking and sexy girl in "Hot" pants turned up and said "If you can catch me you can have a kiss" (looked a lot like Hazel) Sure enough after chasing her down Chatam High Street,he got back and he'd lost 10lb.When Anne got back she said "you look flustered Peter" He said "I've lost 10lb" "Lost £10,you better start looking for it? otherwise there's no Rum and Blacks for you tonight sonny" "No I mean I've lost 10lb in weight, can't you tell? "No" Next day he says to himself "I'll show her,and applies for the next step "Lose 20lb" Knock on his door, and standing there was a beautiful looking blonde girl with a "Mini" skirt on and says "If you can catch me you can kiss me" Off he went again, spent five days chasing her round Chatam, finally caught her and gave her a "Smacker"on the lips.Went back home sure enough he'd lost 20lb? Next day he rings them up and tells them he want's the 50lb plan. The Rep enquire's "Are you sure to this one because at your age it can be dangerous? "No problem,I used to be at Goldings you know ,and this will be a cake walk after being in the gym,and then I joined them "boys"in the Navy. No,I'm as fit as a fiddle after that" Sure enough, the next day Peter eagerley awaits the last plan, when the door knocks, and Peter runs over to open it.There standing in the doorway is a big muscular guy who says "Get running mate, its my turn to catch you" The last we heard off Anne was they are still looking for him,but he's doing well with his weight...he's only a 46 waist now?
